An international expert team of designers, engineers, financial analysts, developers, and information technologists were tasked with creating an new Conceptual Plan for Green Dragon Lake: one which could provide a inspiring example for future Chinese planning, by boldly envisioning an economically and culturally vibrant place capable of meeting the highest global targets for sustainable development.

The need for viable model of truly sustainable development in China has never been more apparent. Can a 25km2 community grow into a world leading destination and catalyst for green living, education, and commerce?

The Plan shows a more dense, compact, and mixed land use, more than doubling the built area currently planned, with the understanding that a lower density scenario could also take advantage of many of the phasing and infrastructure advantages shown.
